After the success of the first edition, in the fall of last year, the project A Bookcase in Every House, a partnership between Deliver Love – The Letter Studio and Hope and Homes for Children, continued this year. The project initiators aim to collect books for children and young people in 44 small group homes of the organisation.

In May, almost 5,000 books were collected by Deliver Love – The Letter Studio and carefully wrapped by volunteers. In June, with the help of Fan Courier and the Deliver Love – The Letter Studio volunteers, the books were delivered to almost 450 children and young people aged 4 to 25 in Maramureș, Alba, Mureș, Bistrița Năsăud, Olt and Cluj counties and in Bucharest. They all expected the parcels eagerly and were happy to receive the books donated by kind-hearted people. There were fairy tale books, young adult fiction books, colouring books, classical literature, encyclopaedias, sensory books and audio books.

A Bookcase in Every House is a project aimed at helping children and young people in the Hope and Homes for Children small group homes start their first bookshelf, which will help them develop their imagination and enrich their knowledge. The campaign was initiated by Cristina Dobrescu, co-founder of the letter writing and delivery project Deliver Love – the Letter Studio.

In 2017, in the first edition of the project, over 400 children and young people in 42 small group homes built by Hope and Homes for Children received books for their first book shelf.
